Car Insurance Fraud

Car insurance fraud robs everybody not just the insurance company. This may sound unbelievable but there are people out there who intentionally crashed into your car just to get the insurance money. They call it catching a case to state accidents are growing by leaps and bounds. The driver of the other car is looking to make a big insurance payoff are willing to make claims against your car insurance company, fake injuries and do whatever it takes to make that money.

Here are some of the different ways that are insurance fraud happens. First, you have to realize that these accidents are staged. People rehearse how it’s going to happen, to create new and different ways in order to make it look legitimate. One of the ways that they stage an accident is to have a car swerved in front of you, so that you slam on your brakes. This causes a rear end accident, because they have another car right behind you, and it crashes into you. They will then deny that they even signaled you and claim that you caused the accident. Before you know it did try for who may or may not have a lot of passengers pile out of the car and pretend that they have painful back and neck injuries.

What most people will do then is file a claim. But a lot of times in these accidents you can get seriously injured or even killed. At the very least, you re left with the inconvenience of getting an appraisal for your car and then leaving your car in the shop for repairs. You’ll wind up wasting your time filing police reports, getting your car repaired, and watching your insurance premiums increase. This is a cry that is causing at least $200 million in losses in one state alone.

So how do you protect yourself? There is a coalition gets insurance fraud. That is designed to warn older drivers, drivers who are writing alone, and owners of new cars were the usual targets of these intentional accidents. One kid to keep yourself safe is to stay at a decent distance from the car in front of you. You also want to keep a disposable camera, paper and pen in your glove box.

When you’re involved in an accident, and you think it might have been staged protect yourself by getting very good details about the accident. See if there are any witnesses, and once you in your car or in a safe place on the side of the road and short exchange information with the other driver.

You may find that they have fake documents, but you still want to get all the information that you can from the driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.

Out and record the number of passengers in the car and get their names addresses and telephone numbers. If the names addresses and telephone numbers of anybody at the scene and photograph the damage to your car, as well as the damage to the other car. Make sure that you call the police to the scene after the collision especially if it appears to be planned for staged.
